CAN YOU STILL FEEL IT? CALLING IN THE AIR TONIGHT! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nita grinned as she stared at herself in the mirror. She can be a bit conceided at times but who doesn't love a confindent girl? She's a sweet girl though. Anyone could've said that. She was getting ice cream today with her best friend. She has a secret though. She's in love with her best friend. When she got to know him, she started to fall for him but now she's in love with him. She's scared to tell him though. She didn't want to lose him. He was the best guy she had ever met. She couldn't help but love him for being different. She thought he was adorable and how much fun they have. Just the thought of being with him made her feel very light. She wanted to look her best but lets face it, she always look good no matter what time of day it was.
Nita grinned as she ran her hand through her soft brown hair. She was excited. She had on a plain black tee shirt and a pair of blue jeans. She put on pink lip gloss and pink eye shadow. She slipped on black flats and grabbed her purse, off she went. She was walking down the street toward Basket and Robins. She was in the mood for cookie dough ice cream. She just loved cookie dough. Everytime she makes cookies, she always licked the bowl. She remembered when her and Levi was bored, they went to bake cookies. She chuckled at the thought when they had a flour war. That was so much fun. The only bad part was when they had to clean up the kitchen. She hates to clean but she does it because she has to.
Nita stopped to check her cell phone. What if Levi called and said he couldn't make it? She wanted to see him but she knew he has a life. She glanced at herself and say nothing. No text or voicemail which meant a good sign. She continued walking as more thoughts ran into her head. What if she did tell Levi she loved him? Would he stop talking to her? No, he was too sweet to do that. But what if it ruined their friendship in any way? She didn't want to lose him. It just sucks that she might not be his girlfriend. She envied any girl that became his girlfriend but she wanted him to be happy. She loved seeing his smile. She grinned to herself as she approached the ice cream shop. Her mouth began to water as the thought of eating cold ice cream with cookie dough mixed into it made her stomach growl at her. She stopped at the door as she looked around. She wondered if Levi was there yet. She was a bit early, so she wasn't surprised her wasn't there yet.
Anita sighed as she saw a bench outside the door. She sat down and rested her purse on top of her lap. She occasionally looked around, hoping to see Levi. She sighed as she took out herself and began playing games on it. She wanted him to come faster. Time felt like it was dragging on and on. What would happen if she told Levi she loved him? Would he love her back? Nita didn't know. She wanted to know but at the same time she didn't want to face rejection. She never been rejected because the boys always asked her out. She never asked a boy out nor told them her feelings. Was she going to start now? How can she find out if he does like her back?

I LIKE IT IN THE CITY WHEN TWO WORLDS COLLIDE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Clicking and watching. Clicking and watching.
That’s all Levi had been doing for the past few hours, staring at the computer screen. He’d been working on the latest video assignment for his directing class and was in the editing phase, which wasn’t his favorite part. He didn’t like the technical skill involved and was more than overjoyed to glance down at the time on his phone, the clock offering him the good news that it was finally time to meet his friend for ice cream.
Levi couldn’t hide his beaming grin as he shut down his computer and stuffed everything back in his backpack, his excitement growing. Not only did he love ice cream, but he happened to be getting the delicious treat with his best friend. And this wasn’t just any friend. It was Anita Alvarado. Anyone who attended this school knew who she was, and everyone either wanted to be her or date her. Levi knew he was lucky to call her his close friend, and his classmates reminded him of this fact daily. One of his buddies had begged him to set him and Anita up on a date, but Levi had refused. He wasn’t even sure why.
He nodded a goodbye to his fellow director classmates who were stuck in the film lab editing since they didn’t have a hot date, quite literally, to go to. He threw his backpack over his shoulder and headed out of the building, letting his growling stomach lead the way to the ice cream shop. He couldn’t wait to see Anita, and he was a little afraid that he might tackle her in an excited hug. He hadn’t seen her in what seemed like forever, and he wouldn’t miss this for the world. He glanced at his clock and picked up the pace, feeling bad for running late. But the sadness quickly disappeared when the image of his best friend sitting on a bench came into view. She looked lonely, which bothered him for a moment before he realized she also looked like an open invitation for some jock guy to come sit by her and start flirting. Levi wouldn’t let that happen. This was their hang out time, after all.
”Hey hot stuff!” He smiled, trying to catch Anita’s attention. He sat down on the bench next to her, acting as casual as possible. He leaned back, his arms outstretched across the top of the bench. ”You come here often?” He laughed and dropped the act, knowing his dorky self trying to be cool was just not buyable. ”Sorry I’m late, I was stuck in the editing lab.” He reached over, trying to give her a hug but failing since he was seated next to her and the angle was nearly impossible to maneuver. He stood up and tried again, this time succeeding at the much-needed best friend hug. "You ready to eat?" he asked when he let her go, a smile lighting his face. "Because I don't know about you, but I'm starving." He offered his hand to help her up and glanced inside, making sure the lines weren't too long. He was in major need of a sugar rush.

CAN YOU STILL FEEL IT? CALLING IN THE AIR TONIGHT! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nita sighed as she sat on the bench. She felt like she was waiting for hours but it only had been about two minutes. Time felt like it was moving so slow. Like everything just moved slow motion. She wished he would get here quickly. Guys across the street stared at her. She knew she was hot but must they stare? She looked away as she looked up and down the street. Hoping to see a sign of Levi. She sighed in disappointment as a stranger walked by. She wanted one of these strangers to be Levi. She sighed as she sat back on the bench. She glanced across the street again and glared at the guys. They were now smirking at her and trying to get her attention.
Anita was excited to see Levi. Classes had been hard. She had been super stress trying to keep up with hw and classes. Sometimes she wanted to just skip class so she could sleep in but she wanted to become a famous fashion designer. She loved fashion. She liked to have her own fashion style though. She wasn't the type to follow the fashion trend. Some of the fashion decades are coming back. She didn't like some of the fashion like leather pants. She preferred maybe the stockings and dresses. She wanted to meet famous people and go to premieres. How cool would that be?
Nita was shook out of her thoughts as a guy whistled at her. She rolled her eyes as she looked up and down the street again. That was the only thing she hated was that guys on the street would try to flirt with her or just stare at her. She wanted Levi to be here now. It was there time to hang out. It feel like centuries since they last hung out. She looked down at her cell phone and groaned as Levi wasn't there yet. She wished she could just travel around like in Harry Potter and grab Levi then teleport back to Basket and Robbins. She yawned as she breathed deeply in then out. She was really looking forward cookie dough ice cream. She just loved cookies and well...food in general.
Nita looked up as someone called her hot stuff. It better not be those guys from across the street she thought. When she looked up, she couldn't help but grin. It was Levi. Her best friend! "Hey cutie!" she responded. She chuckled as she played along. Leaned against his arm as she looked at him. "Not that often but I guess today is my lucky day," she replied. She laughed as she sat up. "It's fine. I'm glad you came though. I was scared those losers would try to come and hit on me. None of them are cute. Besides, they're getting the sidewalk wet with their drool," she told him. Everytime she goes out guys seem to try to get with her. It's fun sometimes but at times, she wished she could be alone to think. She loved to flirt but sometimes she just wanted to be left alone or just hang with her friends. She chuckled as she stood up to give Levi a hug. "I'm starving! I would love to have some cookie dough ice cream," she answered. She grabbed his hand and tried to drag him into the ice cream parlor. She was eager to get in line so she could get her ice cream.

I LIKE IT IN THE CITY WHEN TWO WORLDS COLLIDE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It felt like forever since Levi had even heard Anita’s voice. He knew that was crazy. He had talked to her on the phone not even hours before they met, but it was always different in person. When you’re best friends, being together is like cake. Talking on the phone is simply a piece of candy. Levi always chose the cake.
He glanced over across the street when he heard mention of guys trying to make a pass at Anita. He glared in their direction, disgusted. He couldn’t blame them, it wasn’t like Anita didn’t draw positive attention. But he wished they’d give her a break every now and then. He knew he probably looked like some preschooler trying to hang out with the 5th graders as he stood next to her. She was like a porcelin doll that was perfectly crafted, he was just a mess of hair and nerd. But he didn’t care – he kindly yelled a few choice words at the pigs across the street before he followed Anita inside for their delicious ice cream frenzy. He would try to forget about them for now, although he hoped the guys wouldn't be there when they left. He wasn't a fighter, but some things he just couldn't let go unnoticed.
”Cookie dough, you say? That’s funny because I was gonna get the exact same thing!” he commented, excitedly. He held the door open for her, the smell of hundreds of flavors hitting his senses at once. He was suddenly changing his mind. Rocky road? Mint Chocolate Chip? There were too many choices. He felt as if his mind might explode from the decision-making. If his stomach didn't beat him to it. He hadn't eaten all day, he simply hadn't had time.
Levi lead them to a line and stood, waiting his turn. He stared up at the list of flavors and huffed a sigh. ”I’m doomed.” He glanced over at Anita, a dramatic look of terror on his face. ”I think I’ll have to get one of each!” He smiled and shook his head, only joking of course. Although, Levi knew he could probably eat fifty ice cream cones. Just not in the presence of a lady.
He took a step forward as the line moved, slower than he would have liked. ”So how you have been?” he asked, looking over at his friend. ”I feel like I haven’t talked to you in forever. I blame school. For everything, really.”

CAN YOU STILL FEEL IT? CALLING IN THE AIR TONIGHT! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nita felt like it's been ages since she last saw her best friend. They've been so busy with school then they both had different lives. It's like once in a while their own lives just seem to cross paths once in a while. They just seem to have busy lives in general. Anita couldn't help but think of Forrest Gump when he explained how him and Jenny were like peas and carrots. In a way, that's how Levi and Anita was. They just got along and always had a good time. Luckily, they didn't get into fights or anything or left each other. They were always there for each. Like when her mom had breast cancer. She remembered how they would play together and he would make her feel better whenever she cried. She smiled at the thought as she snapped back to the present.
Nita listened as he shouted a few words at the pigs across the street. They didn't deserve to be called guys. They were more like pigs checking her out. She couldn't help but smile. She loved how Levi would stand up to guys who were eyeing her uncomfortably. She sighed as they made their way into the Basket and Robbins. The smell of ice cream flavors hit her nose. Vanilla, chocolate, mint and other flavors mixed in together to make one gaint smell. Her stomach growled as she thought about what she was going to get. Her thoughts landed on cookie dough. She just loved cookie dough. She loved cookies in general.
Nita giggled as Levi said he was going to get the same thing. "Well, cookie dough is the best ice cream out there," she replied happily. She nodded in thanks as she entered the ice cream parlor. She loved Basket and Robbins but she also supported small businesses as well. Face it, she's a sweetheart who likes small businesses as well as large. Her dad wasn't exactly rich though. She couldn't go buy from Designer stuff. Well, she did but in Ross and other stories like that. That was her own secret though. Not even Levi knew that. The reason she wanted to become a Fashion Designer was because she just loved Fashion. Nita was a fashion lover. She never followed the rules though. Her thing was screw the rules.
Nita laughed as he said that he'll have one of each. "One of each? That's a lot" she responded. She chuckled as someone came up to help them. She glanced at him then decided to go first so that way he could have a longer time to decide. "I would like one scoop of cookie dough ice cream on a small cone please," she told the guy. She watched as the guy grabbed a scooper and began scooping the ice cream. She glanced back at Levi as he asked her how she was.
"I've been good. Not as good not seeing you. We're going to turn into complete strangers if we don't hang out more often!" she half joked. She missed Levi when she didn't see him nor talk to him. It would feel like centuries since the last time she had seen him. "School is lame! But we need it for education. How have you been?" she asked him. She wondered if he had gotten himself a girlfriend since the last time they had hung out. She felt jealous at the thought of him having a girlfriend. She wants to be his girlfriend. No one else but that wasn't going to happen. At least, she didn't think so. She thought that he only liked her as a friend, even a best friend but they can't be anything more.

I LIKE IT IN THE CITY WHEN TWO WORLDS COLLIDE - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Levi hated decisions. It was as if any time he had to make a life-changing decision, his body would freeze up and his brain would decide it was time to stop working. Maybe even forever. It was happening now, as he stood looking at the choices of flavors for his ice cream. But this wasn't life-changing. It was just a simple choice. He knew that. Yet he couldn't help taking it so seriously. The wrong flavor could totally ruin his day.
"I'll have...," he started to speak as he stepped up in line behind Anita. He tilted his head, reading down the list. But when he heard what Nita had ordered, he was sold. "Cookie dough," he announced with a confident nod. "On a big cone. The largest one you've got." He was starving, so he didn't feel ashamed in the least bit to eat a huge cone. At least he didn't order an entire gallon of ice cream and then eat it in front of the lady that was accompanying him.
He dug in his back pocket for a moment, retrieving his wallet. "The last thing I want is for us to be strangers, trust me," he smiled, nodding his head. He would absolutely hate to lose the one friend that actually mattered in his life. He knew other people, sure. And he hung out with his fellow film students. But it wasn't the same. Nita was different. She made him feel like he was actually worth something. "I've been doing okay. Stressed, as usual. But not too bad. I had to go to a circus for a class assignment. That was interesting, since I'm horrified of clowns, as you know," he answered her question, chuckling. "But other than that, my life remains the boring, emotionless hole it always is."
He handed the cashier some money for their ice cream before slipping his wallet back in his pocket and taking his cone when it was finished. He was seriously growing hungrier and hungrier with every passing second and had to force himself to walk over to the napkins and grab a few before heading to a booth. "This looks like a good spot to chill," he announced, slipping into one side of the booth. "Chill... ice cream... ha! I love puns." He embraced the dork that he was. He leaned back in his seat and happily started to eat his ice cream after handing Anita some napkins.

CAN YOU STILL FEEL IT? CALLING IN THE AIR TONIGHT! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Nita had made a decision in advanced she didn't stress herself of what flavor to get. She hated to stress herself. That's why she did her school work in advanced. That way she'll have time to fix it if needed to. Nita was very smart and gorgeous. She knew it too. She has a bit of an ego though. She knows she's hot and almost every boy check her out. Sometimes it can be annoying though. She just wants to hang out with her best friend and eat ice cream. That's a dream any girl would want. Well, for Nita anyways. She had guys chasing her all her life but the one guy she want to be with is right in front of her. She sighed quietly to herself, thinking she has no chance with him. He was cute and funny and well, he can be a dork sometimes but that's what she loves most about him.
Nita grinned as Levi ordered cookie dough. How can anyone not like cookie dough? It's the best type of ice cream. Nita was happy that he made he a decision though. She knew how tough it is for him to make a decision sometimes. She wanted him to pick something that he wanted right then and there but sometimes it felt like ages before they actually got there food. She laughed as he ordered the ice cream on the biggest cone they had. "I see you're very hungry. I wonder what cone is the biggests," she wondered. She tilted her head slightly as she watched the guy get a huge waffle cone and started putting ice cream in it for Levi. The guy came back and handed both Levi and Nita their ice creams.
Nita dug into her purse and pulled out a five to pay for the ice cream. She got change and turned to face Levi as he said that was the last thing he wanted was them becoming strangers. "Life wouldn't be complete with you in it. It would be like an empty hole," she replied. Nita shattered at the thought of a circus. Lets face it, Nita isn't very fond of a circus. There were clowns and a lot of them the last time she went to the circus. They were scary. When she was four, she had nightmares for months of clowns running toward her with a knife. They were trying to kill her. After those type of nightmares, she stayed far away from clowns after that. She didn't want anything to do with them. "Clowns are scary," she stated as a fact. She didn't know anyone who loved clowns.
Anita followed Levi as he walked toward a booth and said that was a nice place to chill. She couldn't help but laugh at his dorkness as he announced that he loved puns. "You're such a dork sometimes. You're my dork though," she joked. There was so much about Levi Nita loved. He didn't care what others thought about him which made her wish she could be like. She cared a bit too much of what others think about her but sometimes she doesn't care. That's a bit contradicting but that's how she is. She's a confusing sort that she doesn't even know how she is. She cares too much about her looks to notice her own personality. Maybe she should spend sometime with herself to figure herself out.
